JOB TITLE: Supplier Development Engineer - Logistics

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Sourcing & Launch readiness of the supply base in line with JLR supply chain standards
- Continuous improvement of JLR’s supply chain to deliver efficiency and cost optimisation across all logistics operations within JLR supply base
- Build to Sequence and complex supply chain development with cross functional team through the identification and mitigation of risks up to Job#1 launch of new products
- Ensure robust solutions for Tier 1 supplier / 3PL sequencing are implemented for all JLR plants in line with agreed standards and service level agreements
- Development of supply chain standards for JLR’s global tier one supply base
- Development of successful working relationships with JLR Procurement and STA management to ensure that all sourcing & industralisation activities are aligned
- Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and the supplier base to ensure project objectives are delivered on time and JLR Operating Standards are met
- Represent JLR STA SLD at all external supplier reviews in conjunction with STA NML, STA SD ME and Procurement teams
- Manage, monitor and track resolution to all logistics problems and issues to ensure improvements are achieved and there is a roadmap to achieve logistics excellence rating
- Support measurable reduction in volume loss and misfits through the development of resilient supply chain solutions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential:
- Ability to analyse and break down complex, multidimensional problems or processes into its key elements to
- achieve common goals
- Strong influencing & negotiation skills – ability to lead senior representatives in supplier environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are important to communicate across all levels, and these should be combined with a confident attitude.
- Ability to work in a disciplined and controlled manner with high levels of personal organisation and motivation
- Can demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good understanding of lean production and supply chain principles
- Experience of system improvement with manufacturing processes
- Ability to work under pressure with high personal resilience
- Flexibility and commitment as travel may be extensive in Europe and overseas
Desirable:
- Leadership experience in multiple logistics disciplines (Supply Chain Management, Launch, Operations Management, Vehicle Scheduling / Production Control, Logistics Engineering).
- Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
- Change management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
