WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This is fantastic opportunity for a Lead Software Quality Engineer to join our JLR Propulsion Software Quality team and support growing the next generation of modern luxury vehicles. Our mission is to continuously improve and manage the in-house and supplier software of our propulsion control systems, securing compliance to industry standards and regulations. We are a multi-cultural and inclusive team operating with an agile mindset to rapidly deliver great innovation for our stakeholders and customers.

 

As a member of the Propulsion Software Quality team, you will be evaluating software development and delivery to ensure that best practices are engaged. This involves coordinating software and supplier teams to follow standard procedures for supplying cutting-edge technologies. Working with various engineering disciplines like autonomous driving and motion control, you will guarantee that Propulsion software adheres to standard principles and methods.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive compliance to the automotive software standards and regulations (UNECE R156, R155, ISO26262, A-SPICE) for all propulsion delivery teams. 
  • Coordinate Change Control Board reviews to provide strong governance for assigned programs. 
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for all software changes and releases that involves monitoring and secure release for both in-house and supplier software. 
  • Lead process improvements and guidelines aligned with automotive standards and program needs. 
  • Active participation in cross-departmental process forums and product demonstrations and presentation of project and process status updates to senior and director-level forums. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Skilled in software release processes, preferably aligned with automotive industry standards.

  • Practical experience in assuring compliance with the Automotive SPICE framework, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and UNECE Regulation R156-SUMS (Software Update Management System).

  • Previous experience in integrating automotive software into customer vehicles.

  •  Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in software quality.

  • Experience delivering complicated projects/systems to a wide spectrum of stakeholders.
